(Often Overlooked) Customization Features in FanDraft

We pride ourselves in offering a massive amount of customization features in FanDraft. However, as a lot of users only access the software a couple of times a year, many of these tools and customizations can easily be missed. This article focuses on familiarizing you with how to access many of the often overlooked capabilities of FanDraft.

AUTO-REVERT TO DRAFT BOARD

PREFERENCES > DISPLAY PREFERENCE
FanDraft offers multiple different display boards, which includes the "Draft Board", "Roster Board", "Round Summary", "Position Breakdown", and "Combo Board" displays. These can all be changed during the draft using the Board Display drop-down menu.
Many times during the draft, you will find the owners asking you to switch between the different display boards. For example, an owner will ask to see the available Quarterbacks, then make his pick. After this, another owner will want to see the draft board.
Turning this option on will automatically switch back to the draft board, after any selection has been made.

HIDE PICKS

PREFERENCES > DISPLAY PREFERENCE
A lot of commissioners want to maintain drama prior to announcing the next selection of the draft, and this feature aides in that goal. Once a player is added to the player queue, by either clicking on the "Player Board" or from the selection drop-down, that player is ready to be selected (by clicking the "DRAFT PLAYER" button). Since the player name visible displays in the box, it gives away who that player will be. The "Hide Picks" feature will display a graphic showing that "SELECTION IS IN", and hides the player queue from easy sight. To help assist in an accidental player being taken, a faint text display of the player can still be seen in the box. Just click the DRAFT PLAYER, and the player will be taken. This is a great feature to combine with the "Draft Chime", which adds an audio queue that a player is about to be selected.

ROSTER BOARD SORT OPTIONS

DRAFT > DRAFT OPTIONS
There are a lot of customization options for how data is displayed on the various display boards, all located within the "Draft Options" area (found by selecting "Draft > Draft Options").
For instance, when viewing the "Roster Board" display, players can be sorted by position or by pick. Swap between these two options by clicking the switch found in this area.

IN-DRAFT TRADE

DRAFT > DRAFT OPTIONS > "IN-DRAFT TRADE"
Quite frequently, especially in keeper leagues, owners will perform trades while the draft is taking place. You can easily perform the processing of a trade during your draft, without leaving the draft area, by accessing the "IN-DRAFT TRADE" tool option. This is accessible from the DRAFT OPTIONS tab (Draft > Draft Options).

OTHER IN-DRAFT TOOLS

DRAFT > DRAFT OPTIONS
There are various tools available in-draft, that will make sure your draft flows smoothly. All of these options are available by clicking the Draft Options icon or "Draft > Draft Options".

  • UNDO PICK: This will undo the prior pick, and allow you to retake the selection.
  • SKIP PICK: If a team is done with their draft or doesn't have a pick.
  • EDIT SELECTIONS: Edit any pick in the draft.
  • PLAYER ON THE FLY: Add a player to the database for immediate selection.
  • TEAM ON THE FLY: Immediately change who is on-deck for selection.
